Welcome to the Wignall Animal Hospital| Annual Blessing of the Animals |
St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226), a man of great faith, spent his life traveling throughout Europe, preaching to the lost, the last and the least likely; he was known to speak and sing to animals of all shapes and sizes. Because of is love for all that God creates, it has become a tradition to conduct yearly services for the Blessing of the Animals, in honor of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi. On Saturday, October 19, 2008, Christ Church United (109 Arlington Street) will hold its annual non-denominational Blessing of the Animals Service and lunch. The service and lunch are free, with donations accepted on behalf of the MSPCA. Adults and children alike are welcome to bring their pets --fluffy, scaly, winged, or hair—to be blessed.
